Put First Things First
Join me and dozens of your direct sales peers Monday mornings for a business prayer conference call. These 25-minute calls are for the specific purpose of bringing our businesses before the throne of God. You do not need to be a prayer warrior to join the calls. I gather all the prayer requests that are emailed to me each week, then together in prayer we ask God’s guidance and wisdom for our businesses. I also share a weekly business devotional message from God’s Word. The calls are Mondays at 10AM ET. May is a key month in your business to keep momentum going – it’s the month to focus on your “mojo”! May momentum is key to carrying you into a strong June and July. So kick it in gear this month with these “mojo” makers:

1. 10 customer calls daily – thank you calls, check-in calls, follow up calls
2. 10 hostess calls daily – courtesy calls to stay in touch
3. 4 hostess coaching calls – prepare your hostesses for their upcoming shows
4. 5 catalogs – mail 5 daily to past hostesses or customers
5. 1 catalog – hand out 1 catalog daily as you run errands
6. 10 emails/FaceBook messages/Texts – touch base with 10 friends daily regarding this month’s specials
7. 1 monthly supplemental event – prepare for a fundraiser, exposure event, open house, own show, opportunity event, etc. to supplement your home show schedule and to keep your “mojo” going!
“I’m Here”
A number of years ago, my husband, Ron, was in the midst of negotiating a large contract with a certain client. The negotiations had reached a particularly delicate, challenging stage during which time the client requested their executives join Ron on a conference call to discuss several issues. Ron knew it might be a difficult call, so he took extra care preparing in advance and seeking counsel from his boss.
The time for the call arrived; it was indeed a lengthy discussion, which grew more and more intense with each issue discussed. Just as the executives were pressuring Ron on a particular issue, with their voices, verbiage and volume displaying a high level of intensity, across Ron’s computer screen came an email, “I’m here”. It was his boss, who had quietly slipped onto the call unbeknownst to Ron or the client. He wanted to encourage Ron that he had his back and was ready to step in if needed. Thankfully, Ron was able to solve the clients’ problems, the deal was completed and everyone was satisfied. But Ron was so grateful to know that, if needed, his boss was there.
“I’m here” – comforting words indeed. When you feel alone, when you need help, when you feel attacked, when you don’t know where you are going, when you don’t know the answer – it’s so good to hear, “I’m here”. As believers we have a Savior Who stands ready 24/7/365 to encourage us, direct us, protect us. He has our back no matter what. He whispers in your ear, “I’m here” just when you need it most.
Most of us Christians know this, but sometimes we just need the encouraging reminder. God’s people many years ago used to sing a Psalm to remind themselves that God is the Great “I’m here”! It’s one of my favorite Psalms, as daily I need to remember God is my Great “I’m here”!
“I lift up my eyes to the hills-
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip-
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you-
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm -
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
