I shared in our Monday Prayer and Bible Study call recently that our theme for this year is the year of renewing your strength, as the prophet Isaiah wrote, “…those who wait (hope) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31) Bible commentator Warren Weirsbe suggests “to renew” to be thought of as “to exchange”. When we are renewed, we actually see it as exchanging our old ways for God’s new ways, exchanging our fears for God’s faith, exchanging our discouragements for God’s joy. When God renews out strength, we exchange our weakness for His strength. That exchange is what then allows us to soar like an eagle – above the storms, above the challenges. When we exchange our weakness for God’s strength, we will be able to run and not grow weary. We will be able to walk through our daily lives and yet not be faint.
Join me in declaring 2015 as the year of renewing our strength. Exchange your weakness for God’s strength. Then soar with Him this year!
